Thought for the Day

Virgo is seen here (above) contemplating the Spirit buried in matter.  Ruled by Mercury, the ‘go-between’ archetype, Virgo is the alchemical earth Sign that seeks to effect the transition of Nature/matter into Spirit by means of the intellect.

Virgo desires to transcend the various crisis and disequilibrium brought on by the flooding of our everyday instinctual experiences.  For Life to truly nourish us our experiences need to be linked and aligned via the mind to our Soul/Spirit source and wellspring.

This is a time of the year that is a turning point, a maxima, just before the Fall Equinox.  Why we, along with Mother Nature, need to pause; we must cease our Labor in manifesting more of this physical world.  Nature/matter is at its most dense and abundant (the tail-end of Summer) and must now begin once more our translation into Spirit, the metaphysical, as well as physical.  Virgo seeks to find, illuminate, and activate the “First germs of Spirit;” this is why it’s referred to esoterically as the Sign of the ‘Immaculate Conception,’ the birth mother of the Soul’s pure Love and Light; also it’s the Sign of the ‘Sphinx,’ the visionary feminine who scans the desert horizon, contemplating.

She craved to achieve a higher being [the Soul], if not in herself, then in her children.  “What will make me strong [and fulfilled] is not money or power nor position” she decided, “it’s a question of knowledge and discovering what is beyond, to enlarge my scope and freedom.” She desired inclusion in the greatest harmony of her life … the Love and Light of her Soul.      ―D.H. Lawrence (a Virgo)

Be happy and have a great week scanning your horizon, contemplating the Spirit buried in matter (your circumstances).

Blessings!
